You will need an ETA Visa to enter Australia. This costs approximately $25 and usually takes about 24 hours to process.
The ETA Visa can be applied for online and is linked to your passport number, so you will never need to send in a physical passport for a stamp. Once your visa is approved, you will arrive at the airport on the departure date, and they will scan your passport. They will then see your visa electronically in their system.
Please read over your visa instructions carefully and don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns.
NON-US citizen: Please note that you many have a different visa process than US citizens. It is VERY important that you bring this to the attention of Nicole as soon as possible. While we cannot advise you on situation specific requirements to submit your application under these circumstances, we may be able to point you towards the appropriate resources.
Participants with a Criminal Record: Please note that the visa instructions are specific to US citizens traveling to Australia who do not currently have a criminal record, or open charges against them. There could be complications to your visa process if you have a criminal record. It is VERY important that you bring this to the attention of Nicole as soon as possible.
You should change a little money into AUD before you leave the US so you have some cash on hand. You may also wish to inform your bank that you will be traveling to Australia, so your ATM cards will work abroad.

February is Summer in Sydney! Temperatures will reach highs in the mid 80’s and high 70’s. The mornings and evenings will cool only a bit to the high 60’s.
Please expect high humidity and an occasional shower.
Causal, breezy summer attire is encouraged for the weekend, when we will get together as a group for the tour of Sydney on Sunday.
We recommend business casual dress during the week as we meet with faculty, internship supervisors, and other partners – presenting lots of photo opportunities. This may include khakis, lightweight polos, skirts, dresses, nice sleeveless blouses, etc.
For our Grand Opening and Farewell dinner on Wednesday evening, you may consider dressier attire.
