Program Overview

Learn about a fascinating topic while exploring Accra, Ghana.
The slave trade was a tragedy that dramatically impacted the history and development of many African countries, the US, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

Based in the Republic of Ghana, where much of the physical and social history of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade can still be found, this 4-week program gives students a unique opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of this tragic chapter of human history as well as the tremendous impact slavery and the trans-Atlantic slave trade had, and continues to have, on human development.
